The Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship London also gives amateur triathletes the chance to experience what it is would be like to compete at the 2012 Olympic venue in front of huge crowds and to finish in front of the grandstands of the triathlon stadium in Hyde Park.

Entry prices:
Sprint distance - £59.00 (before 31 December 2009)
Sprint distance - £69.00 (valid 01 January onwards)
Standard distance - £65.00 (before 31 December 2009)
Standard distance - £75.00 (valid 01 January onwards)

Races will be held over both Sprint (750m swim / 20km cycle / 5km run) and Olympic Distance (1500m swim / 40km cycle / 10km run) with athletes competing in and around the Serpentine lake and Hyde Park.

In a change to the 2009 format, the elite races will be staged on both days; elite women, Saturday 24 July and elite men, Sunday 25 July. Consequently the age group races will also be staged across the entire weekend. Entries are limited for both Sprint and Olympic Distance Races and are on a strictly first come first serve basis. To avoid disappointment and to benefit from the early bird discount, enter now.

Participants will have the opportunity again this year to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care as the official charity for the London event. Money raised will help provide free nursing care for terminally ill people in their own homes.

As with 2009, London will also stage a paratriathlon, with entries opening at a later date. 42 paratriathletes from eight nations competed in last year’s event.

For those looking to get involved with the event, but not race, volunteering opportunities are available to assist with the running of both the elite and Age Group races. Click here for further information.
