The Dextro Energy Triathlon London is part of the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series 2010. As of 2009, the World Champions will not be crpwned in a single event - but via a points system during seven events throughout the season. New standards will be set in triathlon sport with iconic venues in the centre of the World’s most famous cities, a guaranteed world wide TV presence and prize money for the whole series to the value of US$ 2 million.

We are sure to deliver another exciting race and we are looking forward to welcoming the home crowd supporting the newly crowned men’s world champion Alistair Brownlee.

Boris Johnson, Mayor of London:

“The 2009 Triathlon World Championships, set against the magnificent backdrop that only London can offer, were a fabulous success. It is a challenging sport that makes for a thrilling event - both for the world-class athletes taking part and the spectators cheering them on. As we build up to the 2012 Games, London looks forward to welcoming this exciting event again in 2010 and in 2011.”

Marisol Casado, President of ITU:

“The series will be staged in three Olympic cities as well as some of the most important centres of the world.   This is a major step forward for our sport.”

Alistair Brownlee, ITU Triathlon World Champion 2009:

“Competing and winning in London was amazing.  It was a great opportunity to start to understand just what an Olympics in London will feel like.  Its great we will have the chance to race there again in 2010.

Helen Jenkins, ITU Triathlon World Champion 2008:

“I’m very excited about the prospect of racing in London. It will be good to have a home crowd to support us and we will get an early look at Hyde Park which will host the Olympic triathlon in 2012”.
